Overview

Welcome to the Official Website for the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Bermuda! Here you will find information on the diversity of events, programmes and services offered by this Department.

The role of Community and Cultural Affairs is to:

  • Preserve, promote, celebrate and record aspects of this island’s cultural heritage;
  • Disseminate historical information in many mediums;
  • Facilitate knowledge of and appreciation for the people of the island;
  • Promote the arts and increase people’s awareness of and appreciation for our folklife and traditions.
  • Provide courses that promote life long learning;
  • Provide social and educational events for our able-bodied seniors;
  • Work collaboratively with other government departments and organizations within the private sector to achieve its mandate.

The Department achieves this by organizing annual national festivals and holiday events, seniors’ events, folklife events, heritage tours, concerts, media programmes, documentaries, publications, digital archives and more!

Look at our calendar and keep an eye out for events such as Heritage Month, the Bermuda Day Parade, the Emancipation Celebration, National Heroes’ Day, Gombey Festival, Bermuda Heart and Soul, Historical Heartbeats, the Artist in Residence Programme, Premier’s Concert and the new Bermuda Book Fair.

Browse through our Community Education and Development Programme, offering recreational, social, and academic courses for people of all ages; as well read about the Community Outreach Programme and ‘Hands on Youth’ programme for young teens. Also have a look at our Seniors’ page for all of their events, activities and biographies.

I invite you to explore our new website and learn more about the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and how it services the people of Bermuda. Should you require further information, please contact us using our email system or telephone numbers associated with our Department.
