āAttack and Captureā (52 min., English) - A documentary film about the capture of German
submarine U505 off the coast of West Africa on June 4th, 1944. The Germans never learned of its capture and it was secretly towed to Bermuda. From information gleaned from the boat, the Allies were able to pinpoint the positions of all German U-boats in the Atlantic. The crew were kept incommunicado and against the rules of the Geneva Convention. The captain Harold Lange was a secret POW in Bermuda and was the last prisoner ever held here.
