About The Bermuda Arts Council
The Principal objects of the Council shall be:
- to develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and practice of the arts;
- to increase the accessibility of the Arts whether by means of Festivals of the Arts, or otherwise, to the public throughout Bermuda;
- to advise and cooperate with Government Departments, art groups and societies in Bermuda and other bodies on any matters concerned whether directly or indirectly with the foregoing objectives.
Bermuda Arts Council Grants
Applications for grants are available from the Bermuda Arts Council under three broad categories (click link to download):
Other regular activities of the Arts Council include:
- Mini Grants to deserving artists for good works in the previous year
- Hosting the Lifetime Achievement Awards.
- The Council has recently been involved in protecting the development of the arts in Bermuda by responding to, negotiating with and following up with policy recommendations on:
- Department of Immigration's Work Permit Policy for Fine Artists; and
- The seizure of artwork deemed offensive by Bermuda Police.
