Bermuda Day, celebrated on May 24th or the weekday nearest May 24th if that date falls on a weekend, is considered the first day of summer and the first day of the year to take a swim in the ocean or take a boat ride. The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs sponsors the Bermuda Day Parade in Hamilton, where Bermudians and visitors line the streets for a colorful celebration, with runners, floats Gombey Dancers and more.
